Ski lift in Langenbruck is operational – “Untere Wanne” has been dismantled

At its general meeting in June 2025, Skilift AG decided to discontinue operation of the lower Wannenlift. Over the past few weeks, the conveyor cable and drive station at the start were first dismantled, then the masts were flown out by helicopter. This was due to global warming, which is particularly noticeable at lower altitudes. It is hard to imagine today, but in 1978 the Langenbruck facilities operated for 118 days. 

The ski season in this popular local recreation area can begin anyway: The “Obere Wanne” ski lift, which is 450 m long and has an elevation difference of 130 m, is ready for the first snow—the ski clamps are already installed. It also has a parking lot, is lit for night skiing, and features a small restaurant. Now the (snow) ball is in Frau Holle’s court—hopefully she’ll give her pillows a good shake soon.
