Forest Hike from Thal Over the First Jura Range to the Gäu

Together with Solothurner Wanderwege, Solothurn Canton Tourism, and the event organizer CH Medien, we look forward to hiking with you and our distinguished guests along the 1st Jura Range into the Gäu. Among the hikes in the Canton of Solothurn, this route—which begins in Holderbank, passes through Roggenschnarz, crosses the First Jura Range to Schlosshöchi and Blüemlismatt, and ends in Egerkingen—is a classic. Time and again, hikers from all over Switzerland enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful Jura forests and the view across the Mittelland, which stretches all the way to the Alps. For experienced hikers, the route poses no problems; however, sure-footedness and hiking poles are definitely an advantage on this hike, which is classified as T2.

Food

from the backpack; upon arrival in Egerkingen, a welcome reception hosted by “Egerkingen Tourism” at Josef Meinrad Rauber Square in Egerkingen; farewell. (From here, it’s about 17 minutes to the train station.)

Equipment

Sturdy shoes, rain gear, sunscreen, and hiking poles are recommended.

Event Details: The hike will be canceled only in the event of extremely bad weather (storms/thunderstorms). Transportation: Participants are responsible for purchasing their own tickets to Holderbank and from Egerkingen.
